Alpana using decorative pieces.
When not having enough time to make a traditional alpana, we can make these pieces when we have time and use them in whichever shape we want. These pieces make our decorations very easy, but very attractive.

The decorative alpana that i had uploaded is made from various pieces, I just wanted to show you a close up of the pieces so that you will get an idea of how i have decorated them. The first picture gives you an idea as how you can use the same pieces for different arrangement.

Lamp Shade

I tried my hand at using glass painting technique on OHP plastic sheets instead of glass, and was quite happy with the outcome.Plastics sheets can be shaped to whatever shapes we want and hence working with it was very easy.

This was done by me, on the occasion of my nephew’s marriage.It had a diameter of 5ft. Based on the basic alpana technique of West Bengal.

Rangoli Color

This is a rangoli done during diwali. Colours were added to rice paste to make it long lasting.
